Rijeka is the third largest city in Croatia and the capital of the Kvarner region, which is situated between Istria and Dalmatia.

Throughout its history it came under Austrian, Hungarian, French and Venetian administration. It was a wanted place because of its location, at the sea but very near the heart of Central Europe. It was also the main port of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Some of Rijeka’s most notable highlights are Korzo (unusual promenade lined with picturesque café bars), Trsat Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, City Tower.
