Airport and transport – Šibenik (around 34 km); airports in Zadar (around 32 km) and Split (from Šibenik around 60 km).
History – (see National park Kornati); the islet Pišera was inhabited during the Middle Ages and served as a storage point for fish; archeological remains of old fishery breakwaters are found.
Info – Piškera was the largest and the most eminent fisherman settlement on the Adriatic (mostly before and during the 16th century until the 20th century); fish taxing for Zadar region occurred there; at the same time (16th century) Croat from Zadar patented night fishing (fishing under lamp) which was immediately accepted by fisherman’s of Piškera.
For sailors:
Islet Piškera (known as Jadra): Shallow: in the passage between the island Piškera and the islet Veseljuh (along NE side of the island; depth only 2 m). Warning: from the other side of the island (opposite the marina) there is a cliff Kamičić along which is from its E side one reef. Notice: ACI marina (in the passage between the islands Piškera i Panitula Vela) on the N side of the islet Panitula Vela.
